Interested in Ivestigated Cases where Laser has Gone Wrong

All laser operators, regardless of their medical qualifications, length of experience in practice, clinic location, or the type of device used, are held accountable to the NZ laws relating to health services.

Since 2011, NZ Laser Training Institute has been informing healthcare professionals about their obligations by law, and advocating to consumers about their rights, in some cases we have worked on advisory cases to the regulator (HDC)

Read more about a recent laser-related case here:

https://www.hdc.org.nz/decisions/search-decisions/2021/19hdc00698/

Rest assured when you train with us, you will be well-informed, and understand what your rights are, and those of the consumers you treat. We can also provide advice without judgement.

Our Valuable Staff Member is Celebrating her 9th Year on The NZ Laser Training Team

“Our senior clinical tutor Stacey has been a true asset to our trainees and to me personally as the business has continued to grow from strength to strength.

I simply wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have for industry without Stacey on my team, sending my gratitude as this July marks her 9th year on the team.”

- Ruth Nicholson – Director and Fellow Laser Nerd

Recent Feedback about Training with Stacey

I have attended an IPL and Laser Class, and it was an enlightening experience. I learned so much about the technology behind the procedures, and how they can be used to improve skin issues. The class was stimulating and enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed learning in the class as it was very hands-on and allowed us to practice using the latest technology.

Stacey was an excellent teacher and provided clear explanations about each procedure. Her enthusiasm for the subject was contagious and made the class fun. Overall, I highly recommend this class to anyone looking to expand their knowledge of IPL and Laser technology. It was well-structured, informative, and a fulfilling experience.

Thank you, Stacy, for your guidance and excellent teaching.

Are you doing BBL & SHR treatments in your clinic?

We now have a fresh selection of fashionable eyeglasses available, which would be an ideal fit for you. These glasses are top-of-the-line, with improved protection to minimize eye strain as their main feature.

All-new frame and optics

The standout characteristic of the smartglass M5 IPL is its custom-designed frame that offers a perfect fit. Not only is it sturdy and lightweight, but it's also comfortable and stylish. The frame accommodates the new curved, custom-made LCD optics, which provide a large viewing area that's free from distortions in your view. Additionally, the updated frame design shields your peripheral vision from glare, ensuring the best protection and reducing flash fatigue from using your device.

Fitover capable

The new frame is designed to be worn over prescription glasses by the user. Small to medium-sized glasses can easily be worn while wearing the smartglass M5 IPL safety glasses. It can also be worn without any glasses underneath.

Improved protection

The smartglass M5 IPL relies on the same proven detection mechanism as the existing smartglass M3 IPL for speed and reliability, however, the upgraded electronics further improve protection behaviour and allow the smartglass M5 IPL to adapt to both pulse length and pulse frequency. (eg: Hertz rate at higher settings)

Petition to Ministry of Health to Recognise Skin and Beauty Therapists as Health Professionals

The New Zealand Beauty and Skin Therapy industry is on the verge of a change that will see skin therapists recognised as Health Practitioners, alongside Podiatrists, Acupuncturists, and other respected Healthcare Professionals.

This recognition will give our industry the backing of the same legislation as other Health Professions to set professional standards, determine education and qualifications, and improve our standing with our clients. Importantly, we will have a consistent set of standards that Local Councils will recognise and remove the bureaucratic differences in the way Councils attempt to regulate your premises.

Amazing NEW Product from NZ Laser!

Have you been struggling to keep your clients’ skin cool during laser treatments??

We have a perfect solution for you. Our NEW Derma Chill Machine is ideal for use in conjunction with any laser procedures. It is small and compact for your convenience.

Suitable for use with Q-Switched laser, fractional laser, ablative laser, radio frequency needling, plasma pen, and even dermal needling.

Benefits Include:

A more enjoyable treatment for the client, so they can relax and feel looked after.

Cooling makes the treatment less intense and easier for laser tattoo removal sessions to be tolerable.

Acts as a welcome distraction before the treatment.

Reduced discomfort experienced during laser and cosmetic, or appearance medicine procedures, will lead to greater compliance with follow-up procedures.

Cooling lowers the skin temperature, so it remains less likely to trigger histamine or inflammatory responses.

Reduced chance of causing post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation (PIH) - which could occur from tissue trauma response and would take months, or years to resolve.

Minimized risk of treatment-triggered rebound melasma during laser procedures; due to reduced heat delivered to tissue without detracting from the treatment mode of action.
