With this in mind NZ Laser Training Institute Ltd is raising the bar for the Beauty and Medical Industry, the safety of IPL & Laser operators and their clients by introducing its very own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points system.

This is the first of its kind in NZ whereby the operators of IPL and Lasers are measured in CPD points by the amount of professional development and competencies, obtained through are modules / programmes. NZLT Institute feel the Beauty and Medical Industry will be a safer place, for consumers, seeking IPL and Laser Technicians, who meet a benchmark criteria.

All of NZ Laser Training Institutes modules and programmes have been allocated with our own CPD NZLT points and trainees will gain points allocated based on modules of training completed; as well as learning hours or duration of learning, which will match a criteria issued by NZ Laser Training Institute. (1 x CPD point = 1 hour of learning). Having our own CPD point system makes sense, as we now hold a vast database of trained, and formally certified Laser and IPL operators, who have completed training with us since 2011.

Being a Registered Laser Technician will set you aside from the competitors and see you as top of your field! A NZLT Registered Laser Technician will have completed between 100 hours or 100 CPD NZLT points - 400 hours or 400 CPD NZLT points giving them a status of either Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum. Our learning is very flexible, you will gain all technical and Laser science knowledge through our online programmes without interrupting your busy schedule, these courses can be completed anywhere / anytime at your own pace. Online learning will be followed by practical classes that will give you essential hands-on experience operating the latest Laser & IPL technology at NZ Laser Training Institute. Certification type: Each module / programme completed will gain either a Certificate and/or Letter of Attendance (LOA) as advised when enrolling, along with CPD NZLT points. The CPD NZLT points are used towards 1 of the 4 Laser Technician status - Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze.

PLATINUM NZLT Registered Laser Technician

Completed a minimum of 400 CPD points or 400 hours of learning

Example learning path to achieve Platinum status:

NZQA Cosmetic Lasers and Intense Light Source Therapies Micro-credential = 400 hours of learning over 16 weeks / 400 CPD points

Gold NZLT Registered Laser Technician

Completed a minimum of 176 CPD points or 176 hours of learning

Example learning path to achieve Gold status:

Full IPL & Laser Technicians Diploma = 176 hours of learning / 176 CPD points

Silver NZLT Registered Laser Technician

Completed a minimum of 114 CPD points or 114 hours of learning

Example learning path to achieve Silver status:

Diploma in Skin Rejuvenation = 112 hours of learning / 112 CPD points

Diploma in Laser Tattoo Removal = 114 hours of learning / 114 CPD points

Bronze NZLT Registered Laser Technician

Completed a minimum of 100 CPD points or 100 hours of learning

Example learning path to achieve Bronze status:

Diploma in IPL & Laser Hair Removal = 104 hours of learning / 104 CPD points
