What You Need to Become Compliant

Laser Safety Auckland Regulations

Laser Safety Certification (LSC)

To comply with Auckland Council’s minimum laser & IPL standards, you must provide evidence of professional development by obtaining a Laser Safety Certificate (LSC). This certification demonstrates your knowledge of laser safety, risk management, and industry regulations. It does not teach you how to perform treatments, and one day, the Auckland Council will likely figure this out and expect more of you. Our self-paced online Laser Safety Certification training allows you to complete your minimum level evidence efficiently and conveniently.

Important Warning About Laser & IPL Devices

According to Clause 7(10) of the Health & Hygiene Bylaw 2013, IPL or laser devices must be properly calibrated. If your machine cannot be calibrated appropriately, it cannot be used in Auckland. Yes, this means you may need to cancel booked clients !

  • Ensure you have a valid calibration report from a qualified service technician - Yes, we know a guy!

  • A general service check-up, or electrical tag testing, is NOT sufficient — only a proper calibration report is accepted.
